Don’t let the slushy, melting snow keep you from enjoying the great art and conversation of First Friday! Take a look at these events scheduled for March 7 in Missoula:
School of Art graduate students continue their tradition of bringing excellent artists to their alternative gallery space in the alley behind the Old Post Pub. This month the featured artist is none other than School of Art alum Will Hutchinson (MFA 2012). Will’s latest works will be showcased in an exhibition titled, “These Words Were Not When We Were Born.” Join us behind the Old Post from 6-9pm this First Friday.
Be sure to stop by The Brink Gallery (111 W. Front St) to see the newest works by another School of Art alum. Lauren Tyler Norby (BFA 2006) requests the honor of your presence from 5-8pm to see his exhibition, “Crumley & Vaughn Private Investigations.”
Stop by the MAM to see the latest from local artist Patricia Thornton this First Friday. In addition to her exhibition titled, “Misfits, Monsters, and Pretty Things – Daydreams and Dalliances” Patricia will give a gallery talk at 7pm.
Our friends over at MCAT (500 N. Higgins) continue to invite local talent to exhibit their work in a newly refurbished gallery space. Join us this First Friday from 5-8pm to see what Missoula artist Dirk Lee has been up to. Dirk will be showing drawing and prints.
It’s a little off the beaten path, but a visit to The Clay Studio (1106 Hawthorne) is always worth it. This month our friends are hosting the second installment of their tea pot series. “The Teapot Show II” exhibition will run until March 28, but if you want to mingle with the artists and members of the community during the reception, you will need to do so between 5:30 and 9pm this First Friday.
If you are interested in seeing an art event listed on this blog, please EMAIL us and we will consider it for publication. Have a safe and healthy First Friday!
