For November’s First Friday, they welcome Chris Dufala and his exhibition, “American Yard Sale.” Chris will be creating a ceramic wall installation in which objects portray elements of the American yard sale. Specific items will focus on the planned obsolescence of throwaway convenience and the contrast of integrity from a bygone era. 6-9 pm.

The Clay Studio of Missoula:

Our friends at the Clay Studio celebrate the work of two former School of Art students this First Friday. From their promotion, “Twenty years ago, two ceramic artists at the University of Montana came together to show their work at the University’s Art Annex. Janet Whaley, had recently completed her B.F.A in Ceramics and was studying Graduate non-degree before starting her M.F.A in Ceramics, and Mo Gary, was taking an independent study with Professor Beth Lo. Both were non-traditional students in their 40s, both had long careers in health care, and both have become well-known members of Missoula’s art community. Over the intervening 20 years the two have exhibited in shows and galleries in Montana. Now, the Clay Studio of Missoula is bringing them together again for another show – Her Heart – featuring the works of these two ceramic artists.” Join us from 5:30to 9 pm. The exhibition runs until November 28.
