The first of two summer sessions is well under way and we hope those of you taking part are enjoying the course offerings!
For this month’s First Friday there is a lot of art going on in town, so be sure to take in some of these great events.
Art major and Montana Artist Jennifer Bardsley will be exhibiting recent works at HOUSE (133 N. Higgins). Large and small scale modern oil paintings combined with metal, watercolor and copper montage will be on display.
School of Art alum Erik Benson will exhibit recent ceramic works at Gallery 420D (420 N. Higgins, facing Pine St. near Adventure Cycling).
The good folks over at The Catalyst (111 Higgins) have posted this item, “The Pattee Canyon Ladies Salon invite you to join us for an opening reception at the Catalyst. Works in clay, gouache, oils, mixed medium, will be shown by members: Nancy Erickson, Stephanie Frostad, Kristi Hager, Becki Johnson, Beth Lo, Shari Montana, Linda Tawney, Leslie Van Stavern Millar and Janet Whaley. The works will be shown through the month of June.”
|The Missoula Art Museum is pleased and excited to unveil their newest exhibition, Joshua Meier: The Parables (and other impossible events). Meier’s stunning large-scale, meticulously structured photographs invite the viewer into another, more dream-like world. The artist will give a gallery talk at 7pm.
They have also cleared out the Carnegie Gallery for a swinging good time with The Pleasure Kings, providing live music throughout the evening. There will be delicious wines, beers and other beverages. Call 728-0447 for details.
Thanks to the Missoulian for their generous sponsorship of MAM First Fridays.
