Faculty Exhibition, Faculty Lectures and Art Opportunities!

The Annual School of Art Faculty Exhibition continues in the Gallery of Visual Arts (Social Science Building) until the end of the month.  If you have not had the chance to view the amazing works of the talented faculty, or wish to do so again, we invite you and your friends to stop by Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 11-5.  The gallery is open on Thursdays from 11-6 and Mondays by appointment.  Call 243.2813 for more information.

Dr. Rafael Chacón will deliver a lecture in conjunction with the Montana Museum of Art & Culture’s current exhibition of The Original Man: The Life and work of Montana Architect A.J. Gibson.  Dr. Chacón literally wrote the book on Gibson, so be sure to check out his insightful lecture in the Montana Theatre (PAR-TV Building) on Thursday, September 16th at 7pm.

Professor Valerie Hedquist will speak on her latest research titled “Constructing biography: what do we really know about Fra Dana?” on Wednesday, September 22 from 5.10-6pm in Social Science room 356.

Art Opportunities:

The Annual Stevensville Scarecrow Festival is soliciting entries to its art contest!  You can submit your sculpture ideas by downloading the entry form Entry Form.

First Friday:

October’s First Friday is still a few weeks away, but it’s never too soon to get an exhibition idea together.  Maggie at the Union Club (208 E. Main St.) has asked for artists to contact her with proposals for the event.  You can give her a call at 728.7980.
