Bonjorni Lecture, Call to Artists and our anniversary…

This October marks five years since the School of Art (then the Department of Art) began blogging!  It has been a great experience to use this medium to keep in touch with our current, former and prospective students as well as interested members in the art community.  We value your input, suggestions and ideas for post topics.  Please feel free to submit items HERE. Thank you for five years of support on this blog!

Professor Mary Ann Bonjorni will deliver a lecture on October 14th titled, “Finding Language” from 6-7pm in Liberal Arts room 11.  Please join us to hear all about Professor Bonjorni’s sabbatical year and to see some of her most current art works. This lecture is part of the Millikan Faculty Lecture Series.

The UC Gallery is calling for artists to submit applications for their next exhibition year.  If you are interested, click HERE.

Be sure to stop by the Missoula Art Museum for Artini!

Artini heads into fall with a celebration of our vibrant American Indian cultural scene.  MAM is proud to unveil a stunning new exhibition, Wolakota by artist Angela Babby. Join us for a live interview with Babby by journalist Jodi Rave at 6pm.  Poet Jennifer Greene of Arlee reads from her recently published book What Lasts at 6:45.
Jason Heavyrunner with his host of traditional singers and drummers provides the sonic backdrop of the evening, with performances at 5:30, 7:15 and 8pm.
Delicious hors d’oeuvres by James Bar, and a great selection of beer, wine and n-a beverages are offered.

That’s all for this week.  Please be sure to stop by often for all the updates and news from the School of Art.  You can follow us on Twitter by clicking HERE. We are also on FaceBook, so be our friend by clicking HERE. Thank you once again for making this blog possible.  The five years have been great, and we are looking forward to keeping you informed for five more (at least)!
