Commencement 2012!

CVPA Commencement Information:

Art majors who wish to participate in the College of Visual and Performing Arts Commencement 2012 Ceremony must be in the lobby of the PAR-TV Building no later than 11:45am on Saturday, May 12th wearing their cap and gown.  Graduating students are welcome to invite as many friends and family to the event as they wish, but we strongly recommend that those guests be in their seats by 11:45 or earlier as the Montana Theatre will fill very quickly. The ceremony will begin promptly at 12.00 noon and will last one hour. CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2012!

The University of Montana Commencement 2012:

The main ceremony for all graduating students will take place in Washington Grizzly Stadium.  Here is the information provided by the Office pf the Registrar:
7 a.m. Coffee with the Class of 2012 – Hosted by President Royce C. Engstrom. Free continental breakfast for degree candidates/graduates, their families and faculty (University Center Atrium).

7:25 a.m. ASUM Transportation begins continuous bus service to campus from Park-N-Ride locations – East Broadway Route and South Route (Dornblaser Field). See map on Commencement website.

7:45 a.m. Special golf cart transportation to the stadium begins for mobility impaired and people with disabilities. Pick-up Locations include Adams Center parking lot and the University Center Parking Garage.

8 a.m. Gates open at Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

8:45 a.m. Degree candidates/graduates assemble for line-up on the Oval.
9 a.m. Faculty members assemble for line-up on the Oval between the Liberal Arts Building and Jeanette Rankin Hall. Platform Party participants don academic regalia in University Hall (President’s Office) and assemble for line-up outside University Hall.

9:30 a.m. All guests should be seated in the west seating area of Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

9:30 a.m. Faculty, degree candidates/graduates and platform party begins processional from the Oval to their respective stadium seating areas.

10 a.m. Central ceremony begins (Washington-Grizzly Stadium).

11:15 a.m. Central ceremony concludes with platform party, faculty and students recessing. After recessional, guests disperse to attend ceremonies that follow.

11:15 a.m. Commencement Brunch begins at University Center Food Court dining room. (Reservations preferred. See Commencement website for details)

11:15 a.m. Various venues, galleries, museums and SpectrUM open until mid-afternoon. See Commencement website for details.

Noon Individual Professional Schools ceremonies begin at various locations.

2 p.m. Individual College of Arts and Sciences departments and College of Technology ceremonies begin at various locations.

4:25 p.m. Bus service ends (ASUM Transportation) from Park-N-Ride locations – East Broadway Route and South Route (Dornblaser Field). See map on Commencement website.
