School of Art graduate students maintain an alternative exhibition venue in the alley behind the Old Post Pub. For First Friday of June they will be hosting the reception for new works by Monique Belitz. Check out “The Shape of Sorrow” from 5-7pm!
Recent School of Art graduate Tyler Brumfield (MFA 2018) will be showing his latest sculptures at Home Resource this First Friday. Tyler’s reception will take place in the community room from 5-8pm and snacks have been promised. See you there!
School of Art alum Tory Gustafson (BFA 2012) welcomes you to join him at Draught Works for a reception of his latest paintings and drawings. The official Facebook invite reads, “Torrence draws inspiration from his day to day experience, his ups and downs, his triumphs and his failures. His art is BIG, BOLD, GRITTY, and brimming with emotion. Pop in, grab a pint, and check it out!”
Local artists Zoe and Lukas Phelan will be showing their collaborative works at Le Petit this First Friday from 5-9:30. Stop in to enjoy wonderful art, yummy snacks and, at 8pm a special musical performance by Missoula’s hot and sexy new band, Worst Feelings!
Congratulations are in order to our good friends at the Clay Studio, as it is their 20th birthday! Stop by this First Friday to help celebrate this milestone and enjoy great art and tasty treats. This exhibit highlights the development of their artist residency program and the staff that has been key in helping steer the Clay Studio of Missoula into the growing community clay center that serves the Missoula community and beyond. Too many featured artists to mention here, but you’re pretty much guaranteed to see something you like!
The fine folks at Radius invite us all to the début of new works by Missoula’s own artist extraordinaire Hadley Ferguson. The small intimate paintings, based on photographs collected by the artist, celebrate beautiful places, depicting memories of travel and growing up in Montana. In addition, Radius is hosting their 3rd annual Ceramics show! The First Friday reception will be held from 4-8pm.
The MAM staff extend their First Friday invitation to view the extraordinary exhibition, “John Baldessari: Interference Effects, Selections from the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation.” Enjoy MAM’s typical lively First Friday reception and a gallery talk at 7 PM. Connect with artists and MAM’s art community on the First Friday as you do each month from 5 to 8 P.M. Enjoy live music by KBGA, light refreshments will be served!
