In advance of the official announcement, the School of Art would like to congratulate Michael T. Workman (BFA 2015) on being named one of Forward Montana’ s 25 under 25. Forward Montana highlights 25 Montanans under the age of 25 who are shaping Montana through their work.

Michael was selected due to his efforts helping the next generation of Montana artists and filmmakers gain the knowledge and skills needed to be competitive in the field and share the issues of Montana with the world.

Through his job at the Big Sky Film Festival, for the past three years Michael has mentored high school students in Missoula as they made short documentaries. Through the Missoula Art Museum , Michael has taught courses in animation and new media in contemporary art to high school students. At the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC), he taught monthly printmaking courses open to all ages for a year, and mentored a number of teenagers in printmaking.

An award ceremony will take place in Caras Park from 6-10:oo pm on Friday, August 21st. Come out and congratulate Michael and the 24 others being honored for their hard work.
