First Friday- December 2016

It’s the final First Friday of 2016! Let’s take a look at what’s going on around town:

FrontierSpace:

School of Art graduate students are excited to welcome new work from art major Thomas Manzanarez for their last 2016 exhibition in the alternative gallery. A reception will be held from 6-8pm, but because Mr. Manzanarez will not be present, a second reception will be held from 5-9pm the next evening so he may discuss the work. That’s two chances to see “Learn to Adapt”.

Real Good Art Space:

Our friends over at Real Good are presenting a multi-media art exhibition by Ashley Rickman from 7-10pm. Common Ground: You, Me, and the Others” invites the audience to experience specific and cumulative emotions that individuals dealing with nonspecific silent and mental illness face.
This multimedia exhibit rouses universal emotions from the audience, utilizing psychological commonalities to bring awareness and a new understanding to unseen illness. It is here that the invisible is not only seen—it is felt, and it is heard.

Art major Ashley is a graduating in May with a Bachelor’s of Art from the University of Montana. This work is the product of the past year’s exploration in film photography, sound, video, and instillation.
